NYnet was delighted to be invited as one of a panel of expert speakers at the March meeting of Harrogate District Chamber of Commerce, sharing knowledge on the topic of the Super and Public Highway.
CEO Alastair Taylor joined Kim Johnstone of CityFibre and North Yorkshire County Council’s member for highways and connectivity, Cllr Keane Duncan for the event at Harrogate Convention Centre.
Alastair shared the latest news on NYnet’s growing fibre network in North Yorkshire and also talked about our work in other areas including free town wi-fi, business parks and IoT opportunities with Lorawan across the region.
David Simister, Harrogate District Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive, said ahead of the meeting: “The thread for our March meeting is the highway, be it super or public, with each of the speakers giving an overview as to current developments in the Harrogate District.
“Connectivity and superfast broadband speeds are what businesses expect as the norm these days, and anything less could impact on them being able to function properly, and even lose them work.”
NYnet has made significant progress with the rollout of our digital full fibre network to North Yorkshire business customers, the provision of backhaul services to some of the new alternative local ISPs and the extension of the Lorawan network.
Alastair Taylor said: “The expansion of our premium full fibre service into business parks will help put the region on the map for digital services and will bring our gigabit fibre solutions to more than 1,000 businesses across the county, boosting the region’s economy.”
Business parks that are included in the recent expansion programme include Hornbeam Park and Cardale Park in Harrogate, Marrtree Business Park, Barr Lane Industrial Park, Colburn Business Park in Catterick and Thornton Road Business Park in Pickering. NYnet is also taking enquiries from businesses based at Thirsk Industrial Estate, Snaygill and Airedale business parks in Skipton and Stokesley Business Park.
