The NYnet network is based on a high bandwidth fibre core extending across North Yorkshire with major Points of Presence (PoPs) in the following places:

The NYnet Network has 37 PoPs across North Yorkshire which provides service to over 750 sites. Using a 10Gbps core Network, NYnet utilises Fibre, Next Generation Access (NGA), Ethernet First Mile (EFM) and aDSL access circuits to deliver connectivity into its customer sites.

As well as being ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 compliant, NYnet has achieved the distinction of being awarded the highly prestigious CAS(T) accreditation.  The CESG Assured Service (Telecoms) accreditation is an assurance scheme for ‘Next Generation’ telecommunications providers.  It provides assurance that a network is built, operated, and managed sufficiently for it to be used for handling Official Data.

Public Sector wireless roaming, more commonly referred to as Govroam, has also been deployed by NYnet across the Public Sector. With authentication of trusted guests, and when combined with a VPN, it allows Public Sector workers to easily access information from their VPN at Public Sector sites not on their VPN.
